Responsibilities/Qualifications

Drees Homes is currently seeking candidates for an opportunity as a Design Assistant to work in our Drees Homes Design Center located in our Cleveland Division. Our Design Center is the one-stop resource for home-buyers to choose distinctive finishes that make their home completely unique.

 

In this position, you will assist Design Consultants with providing customers with an exceptional experience prior to and during the selections process.

 

 

Some Responsibilities include -

  • Maintain a welcoming environment by greeting customers, answering calls and keeping refreshments stocked
  • Assist with once a week evening preview browse hours and once a weekend by condicting general infomration tours, answering any questions regarding included features and design options, and prepping welcome packets.
  • Help keep the Design Center up-to-date by organizing new products and removing dating ones.  Ensure all model numbers, hand out documents and displays are accurate and efficient.
  • Assist with Market home selections and customer selections, when needed.
  • Assist with scheduling customers for their Design Center appoints and sending out confirmation emails.
  • Communicate and coordinate with builders, estimators, and sales personnel.
  • Assist with maintaining Design Center reports with up-to-date information.
  • Prepare and process job files for daily appointments.
  • Assist with other coordinating needs to help keep buyers on track such as low voltage appointments and documents.
  • With with Bluebeam to support daily designer needs such as: redlining plans, backsplash drawings, cabinet revisions, etc.
  • Keep design center stocked with office supplies as needed.
  • Take pictures of products and different design features in the field for the Design Centers photo log, as needed.
  • Continually strive to improve customer service.
  • Perform any new duties as assigned.

Requirements include -

  • High School Diploma is required; Bachelor or Associate Degree in a design related field preferred.
  • Must have superior customer service skills
  • Experience in an Art or Design related field
  • Experience with Envision a plus
  • Interest in interior design and a desire to learn
  • Good computer skills including basic Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, InDesign, and/or Illustrator a plus
  • Drafting and rendering software skills - AutoCAD, Revit, etc. helpful
  • Organized and strong attention to detail
  • Friendly, outgoing personality with the ability to exercise patience with customers
