    Responsibilities/Qualifications

    Drees Homes is seeking candidates for a Land Acquisition Manager in the Cleveland, OH market.

     

    In this position you will gain exposure and competence in all facets of land acquisition through site development. You will assist in site identification, site analysis, preliminary design, project budgeting, re-zoning of properties, public agency approvals and site development.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Search and identify potential land purchases
    • Assist Zoning Administrator in activities associated with planning and zoning boards, public councils, agencies and public officials to obtain approvals
    • Conduct zoning presentations for public meeting and internal approval
    • Solicit bids from consulting engineers for review
    • Coordinate with engineers throughout approval and development process
    • Supervise site development phase to ensure schedules are being maintained
    • Coordinate land development activities with homebuilding activities
    • Review and approve property taxes
    • Assist with preparation of subdivision restrictions and filing them with agencies
    • Prepare detailed estimates and purchase orders for all product in a timely manner while ensuring accuracy
    • Review Homeowner Association documents and work with property management companies on preliminary budgets
    • Additional responsibilities to assist in land development

     

    Desired Knowledge and Skills:

     

    • College degree in a related field of study preferred
    • Experience in the homebuilding industry specifically in planning and zoning is ideal
    • Experience working with an engineering firm would be helpful
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word
    • Experience with JDEdwards a plus
    • Strong negotiating skills
    • Familiar with real estate language and activities in the Cleveland market
    • Must be analytical and detail-minded
    • Team oriented and a good communicator with sharp public speaking skills
    • Self-motivated to be able to multi-task and meet deadlines

     

    The schedule of this position will be Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 5 PM plus additional hours as necessary.
