    Drees Homes is the owner of First Equity Mortage and Alamo Title of North Texas.


    Alamo Title of North Texas, a subsidiary of Drees Homes is seeking candidates for a Title Examiner position in our Plano office.


    In this position you will be responsible for ensuring a title clear of all liens for Drees lot purchases and home closings.


    Some responsibilities include: 

    • Search and examination of title to determine the conditions of the title to be insured and generate title commitments using title software program
    • Evaluate the risk involved with the issuance of a title insurance policy and the clearance of title objections
    • Upload records on all base file numbers, exceptions from coverage and lien information to be used in commitments
    • Update title commitments and approve surveys
    • Generate title policies after closing, upload signed policies using document sharing software
    • Correspondence with lenders requesting outstanding documents
    • Provide customer service and support to assure closing dates are met
    • Build base files for newly filed subdivision plats by searching metes and bounds land descriptions
    • Meet requirements to be a licensed escrow officer including continuing education hours as required by the Texas department of Insurance
    • Miscellaneous administrative responsibilities such as file maintenance, answering phones and special projects


    Some Requirements include:

    • Extensive experience with preparation of title policies and commitments
    • Commercial/acreage land title experience ideal
    • Strong technical skills including Word and Excel, Soft Pro a plus
    • Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work independently without supervision
    • Strong customer service orientation
    • College degree a plus
