Responsibilities/Qualifications

Drees Homes is seeking candidates for a Production Assistant-Accounts Payable position for our Houston, TX Division office located in the Northwest Houston area. 

 

In this position, you will be responsible for prompt, smooth flow and accurate processing of all construction related paperwork and information. You will perform accounts payable responsibilities and provide administrative/clerical support to the Operations and Production processes.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Process subcontractor, vendor and supplier purchase orders and invoices for timely and accurate payment
  • Research and respond to invoice and payment inquiries
  • Request, log and file updated insurance certificates from Drees trade base
  • Open and distribute all incoming mail
  • Record and route all Customer Care calls to appropriate Warranty Representative or Manager
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining office supplies
  • Answering phones and various other administrative and clerical tasks to support the Operations and Production processes

 Desired Knowledge & Skills:

  • Must be organized, detail-minded and process oriented
  • Multi-tasker with the ability to succeed in a deadline driven environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous accounts payable experience
  • Good understanding of a Chart of Accounts
  • Strong computer skills including Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; experience with JD-Edwards a plus
  • Basic understanding of subcontractor insurance certificates and terminology helpful
  • Knowledge and/or experience with a homebuilder or subcontractor processes a plus
  • High school degree required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree a preferred
