Drees Homes is seeking candidates for a Construction Administrator for our Houston, TX Division.


In this position you will coordinate flow involving construction and administrative functions, facilitation of construction starts, coordination of architectural changes, and analysis and pricing of applicable Division products.



Some responsibilities include: 

  • Facilitate and ensure timely release of construction starts
  • Approve special pricing requests from Sales and Designers
  • Update and maintain upgrade and option price lists
  • Maintain and communicate general specification changes
  • Maintain and track new product/prototypes from Architecture to completion including attaining new plan bids, floor trusses, HVAC, etc.
  • Attend prototype walks and ensure redlines are completed
  • Coordinate with Marketing on brochure and plan changes
  • Assist in establishing contracts with new subcontractors and suppliers; Serve as liaison between Drees Builders and new contractors
  • Prepare comparative cost analysis on existing and new product


Some Requirements include:


  • College degree, preferably in Construction Science or a related field of study
  • Minimum of 4 years work experience with a residential construction company
  • Purchasing, operations and/or job site supervisory experience helpful
  • Detailed understanding of how to read Architectural and Engineering plan sets
  • Ability to price structural and design options
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications - Word and Excel
  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task with accuracy
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people and drive a team to meet objectives
